Accutane (Isotretinoin) Month Three
April 14th, 2008
WARNING: Accutane is a serious drug that can have long term effects on your liver, skin, joints and more. Try the Acne Products out there first. We recommend Murad Acne Complex.
So my Month Three has finally ended….
I didn’t realize that I had to answer my questions on the ipledge program website within the 7 day period of my dermatologist giving me my prescription. So I totally thought that I could wait until all my pills ran out to answer the questions and then pick up the pills. I was completely wrong and they blocked me out until I got a new pregnancy test. Long story short, I had a really creepy interaction with my Pharmacist however, I finally got my pills!
Dry Skin: My face is, as you might think at this point, the same amount of dryness that it was before. If I even scratch my face real hard, it will leave a mark. Only if I scratch it really hard though so just be cautious!
Breakouts: My skin is looking a little better. I am not having horrible breakouts or at least haven’t been for the last week. So High Five Accutane! Woot!
Lips: Lips Are Out Of Control. They are simply horrible. If I forgot to put chapstick on at night, it is just game over. The whole next day my lips will be unbelievably bad…it is tragic.
Body: I am soooo pale. It makes me nervous when I look in the mirror cuz I can’t tell if it’s Casper or if it’s me. Other than that, I am really really sick… I may even have mano. Ugghhh!! Hopefully I am better soon… Also, I am off birth control still (which may have been a horrible decision). Let’s see if I made the ultimate mistake.

I have been taking Claravis 30mg BiD for a little over one week now and began experiencing red, dry skin after just a couple of days. I have very fair skin, which sucks even worse when you have acne; I am accustomed to any type of acne medication being very irritating and overdrying to the point that it ages my skin. Right now, I look like I have a red mask over my cheeks and nose. It may be more embarrassing than the actual acne, which is itself noticably worse at this point. Worse yet, people ask me if I have a sunburn regularly. I guess I am seeing where the hightened depression might come in for some people. Thanks for chronicaling your experience. It’s nice to know that other people are putting up with similar problems for clear skin.

hey gurl. thanks so much for posting every week. i love it! i love u lol. i started accutane about a week and a half ago. im gettin alil bumpy but i feel like its getting everything out u know. its starting to dry up a lot but after i wash my face i moisturize right away and that works well. burt’s bees is my nigga! my lips are great! and my body is fine. ive read a lot of peoples blogs and all of them say this stuff is the shit so i have faith. ive noticed even before taking accutane that washing your face at least 3 times a day (morning, mid day, night), a good night sleep (round 10), and a lot of water (WATER WATER WATER!) can do wonders. unfortunately since last thurs ive been a fat ass not going to the gym like i do everyday and eating mad junk food and staying up all night. i havent partyd yet so i guess thats good….for my face hahah. but yea ill talk to ya. keep me posted.
ps. i think getting off birth contole was good. if your not fuckin then theres no need even though i herd it makes ur tits bigger? lol maybe mixing them caused you to break out that much?
